These terms cover this site and Alumo itself. Alumo is still being built, so what it does changes often and some of it will change without warning.

You do not make your own account. Your school is set up with Alumo, and an administrator there invites everybody else. Your school decides who has an account and can take one away.

Alumo is free while it is in test, which is where it is now. We are finding out whether it earns a place in a school. If we do set a price, we will tell every school that already has an account, and those schools keep Alumo free for a year from the day we tell them. Nothing is charged before that year is up.

Write what your school needs. Do not try to break it, overload it, or reach anything that is not yours. We can close an account that does.

It stays yours. We store it and show it back to you. To answer questions about it we also send parts of it to Google's models, and to whichever assistant somebody at your school connects. The privacy page says exactly what goes where. We do nothing else with it. The software, the wordmark and the design stay ours.

Alumo answers from what your school has written down, and a language model writes those answers. It can read a page wrong, or say something with confidence that no page actually says. Every answer points at the pages it used, so read those before you act on anything that matters. The pages are the record, the answer is a way to find them.

Anybody with an account can connect Alumo to Claude or ChatGPT. What that assistant reads then goes to Anthropic or OpenAI, under their terms rather than ours, and what happens to it there is between your school and them. Every call it makes is written down so your school can see what it did.

Alumo is offered as it is. It may be offline, it may be wrong, and a feature may change or disappear. We are not liable for what you decide based on it.

An administrator can close the school, and anybody can close their own account. Both take effect at once and start a ninety day wait, so a mistake is undone by signing in again. After that it is erased for good.

These terms change when Alumo does. The date above says when they last did.
